Salary circa £20,000 p.a. (FTE), subject to experience (The training role will have a starting salary circa £18,000 per annum).
St David’s Hospice Care is an outstanding provider of expert palliative and end of life care and a prominent and respected charity at the heart of the local community. We offer a wide range of specialist services to support patients, their families and friends.
We are looking for the right candidate to join our Family Support Team. We will consider applications from candidates with or without experience in a Welfare Rights role. Training can be provided for a developmental role where needed and this is outlined in the Training Job Description. As a Welfare Rights Advisor you will guide our patients and carers to their correct Welfare Benefits entitlements.
An experienced applicant should have up to date knowledge of Universal Credit, Housing Benefit, Carers’ Allowance, Attendance Allowance, Employment Support Allowance, Personal Independence Payments (PIP) and Disability Living Allowance. (Training on all of these benefits will be provided as part of the training role).
The post is offered on a 22.5 hours per week contract.
You will work as a member of the multi-disciplinary team and share specialist knowledge as appropriate.
Use of a car and possession of a UK driving licence is essential.
This post involves working with vulnerable adults and is subject to a DBS Disclosure at an enhanced level (Disclosure & Barring Service).
