By GS Verde Group
We are honoured to share that Nigel Greenaway, CEO of GS Verde Group, is taking on the incredible challenge of climbing Mount Kilimanjaro to raise much-needed funds for St David’s Hospice Care.
Nigel began his climb on 3rd October 2024, following the demanding Lemosho Route, with the goal of reaching the summit on 12th October. This ambitious effort is not just about conquering the mountain, but about supporting a cause that is close to his heart – ensuring we can continue providing vital care to patients and families across Gwent and South Powys.
Why Fundraising Like This is Crucial
At St David’s Hospice Care, we offer compassionate, specialist care to those with life-limiting illnesses, whether it’s in the comfort of their own home, in the community, or within our hospice. Every year, we rely on the generosity of our supporters to fund these essential services.
Fundraising efforts like Nigel’s Kilimanjaro climb are crucial to our mission. Without this kind of support, we would not be able to offer the range of care and services that make such a difference to patients and their families. The funds raised will go directly toward ensuring that individuals receive the end-of-life care they need, where and when they need it.
Nigel’s Journey to the Summit
Nigel’s challenge has been both physically and mentally demanding, with the Lemosho Route taking him through diverse landscapes, from lush forests to rocky plateaus, and now, as he pushes toward the summit, through steep, icy trails.
Throughout his journey, Nigel has remained committed to raising funds for St David’s Hospice Care, and we are incredibly grateful for his dedication. The final stretch of his climb is taking place now, and we are all rooting for him as he reaches for the summit of Africa’s highest peak.
