Sunday 1st March 2026 saw the return of the KLA City of Newport Half Marathon, raising vital funds for St David's Hospice Care: the biggest yet with over 2,500 registered runners! The iconic 13.1 Mile route showcases the landmarks of the City, as it meanders along the River Usk pathways, and historic village of Caerleon filled with talented performers along the route to bring motivation and fun from choirs, bagpiping, samba and drums! A heartfelt thank you to all volunteers, spectators, participants, performers and supporters who joined us on the day - making it a truly memorable event.

On 14th March, Monmouth MOT Centre held a fantastic family fun day fundraiser - In loving memory of DJ Williams. The day included a 12 hour spin bike challenge, huge raffle, evening entertainment, food and so much more - with the event a huge success. St David's Hospice Care are incredibly grateful to share an absolutely phenomenal £18,607.32 was raised; an amount that will make a transformative difference. A heartfelt thank you to all who supported and organised such a wonderful day - our community are at the heart of the Hospice helping us to continue providing our care and we are so grateful. |

The Big Welsh Brew 2026 |

Throughout March, St David's Hospice Care encourages the community to get involved in our Big Welsh Brew fundraising campaign ☕ This month we are incredibly grateful to all who joined us and enjoyed a cuppa with a cake to help make a difference for your local hospice. The long-standing Llandenny Big Welsh Brew was held at the beginning of March, alongside Jean's popular Brew at St Marys Church. Cwmbran and Caerphilly Support Group also hosted fantastic coffee mornings this Month. We had many local businesses and Hospice Heroes coming together to help host a Big Welsh Brew - thank you! |

Harvester Spytty Tribute Tree of Love |

It was lovely to visit Harvester, Spytty in March to celebrate their incredible fundraising from 'The Tribute Tree of Love' throughout the festive season. The fundraiser was a special opportunity to honour loved ones, placing a dedicated bauble for a donation to the Hospice at the restaurant's beautiful tree. A heartfelt thank you to staff and all supporters for helping to raise such a great amount of £217.04, it will make a huge difference to the Hospice 🎄 |

Hospice Hero Caroline visited the Hospice in March to celebrate incredible fundraising for St David's Hospice Care! Caroline successfully completed a brilliant challenge of swimming 50 miles, in 5 months before turning 50 - raising an incredible £552.52. We are so grateful for such wonderful support that makes a meaningful difference |

Rob's Roast supports Hospice Care |

This month, St David's Hospice Care were grateful to welcome Simon and Steph to the Hospice in recognition of the incredible fundraising of 'Rob's Roast'. The Coffee Company was set up in loving memory of Robin Smallwood who passed away last year aged 76 following a short battle with a rare, aggressive cancer. Speaking about the care their father received, Steph said: “Dad spent the last week of his life at St David’s Hospice, and the care, compassion and dignity they showed him, and all of us, meant everything. A percentage of the coffee business’ profits are being donated to charities close to the family’s heart and the Hospice are very grateful to be supported, and were presented with a fantastic donation of £2,000 to St David's Hospice Care |

Bluebelle Support Group Easter Quiz |

Bluebelle Support Group hosted a sold-out Easter Quiz in March at the St Julian's Conservative Club. The evening was a great success with fantastic rounds for the quiz, a huge raffle full of prizes from hampers to jewellery, and 'Guess how many sweets are in the jar' - all raising a wonderful amount for the hospice. Thank you to all who attended and to Bluebelle Support Group for continuing to raise such important funds to make a meaningful difference. |

Run for St David's Hospice Care |

Rhys is one of our brilliant Runners for St David's Hospice Care, raising essential funds for our care and services. This month Rhys completed the Brecon to Cardiff classic, 50km run - despite a sprained ankle on mile 18, creating a challenge for 25 miles, Rhys didn't give up and successfully finished the race. Now Rhys is on to training for the 100 mile race in July - best of luck Rhys and thank you for being a Hospice Hero! |
