Ian's 8 hour stationary cycle Challenge

Supporter Ian recently started 2026 with an incredible fundraiser - taking on a gruelling 8 hour stationary bike ride at Tiger Fitness reaching a phenomenal 101.9 miles! With months of dedicated training and preparation, Ian completed a phenomenal amount of miles whilst also raising a transformative £1,674.71. Ian took on this fundraiser, in loving memory of Sister-in-law Samantha, who was a lung cancer specialist, and we couldn't be more grateful.

Ian shares more about why he supported the hospice here: 
"Samantha Williams was my sister in law, I originally set up the fundraiser when she was admitted to St David's Hospice Care in October for pain management. I was keen to get the word out that St David's was more than just a place for end of life care and that you offered so much more. The hospice was amazing, they couldn't do enough to make sure Samantha was supported. We will always be grateful to St David's Hospice for their care of Samantha and being able to take on the fundraiser was an honour"

Lougher Home Care Festive Fundraising

We recently visited the team at Lougher Home Care who have kindly supported the hospice with a collection of donations towards our Christmas Gift Appeal, as well as hosting their own fundraiser of a Pyjama Day! On 18th December staff wore their best festive pyjamas and donated to raise vital funds.

We visited the team in January to collect donations and celebrate their great total raised of £169.28!

Holiday Inn, Newport raise outstanding funds for In-Patient Unit

Throughout 2025, Staff at Holiday Inn, Newport tirelessly fundraised for St David's Hospice Care In-Patient unit - hosting many great events to reach a phenomenal total of £8,444.16!

The team held a wonderful Bake Sale with lots of delicious cakes on offer in return for a donation to the hospice in July, followed by a sponsored, just over 10k, walk raising sponsorship as they took on the miles on a very warm and sunny day in September. A hugely successful Charity Evening was also held in November, with live music from Regga Lee Lee, Disco, two course dinner and huge raffle with many incredible prizes to win

Incredible total raised from Caerleon Support Group and Prosecco and Purls

It was lovely to welcome members of Caerleon Support Group and Prosecco and Purls to our Newport Hospice in January to celebrate their incredible fundraising and support.

2025 saw the return of 'The Magic Garden' a truly special event taking place from the 10th-16th September at Caerleon Memorial Garden. Through the wind and rain, the team ensured the event was open every day for all to enjoy the amazing crafts and displays on offer.

In December, a wonderful Christmas Coffee Morning was held with delicious bakes, refreshments and stalls to celebrate the festive season and raise vital funds for the Hospice.

Such great fundraisers have raised an outstanding £3,654.85 for St David's Hospice Care. An amount that will make such a meaningful difference to St David's Hospice Care.

2025 Monmouth Raft Race

Despite the challenges of the 2025 Monmouth Raft Race some thirty-five teams took part and still managed to make a big splash by raising almost £14,000 of which £11,144 has just been presented to St David's Hospice Care Chief Executive Emma Saysell.

The charity was hugely indebted to the Rotarians and the generous hearted people of Monmouth who had now donated a massive £300,000 since the raft race was taken over by the club in 2004, she revealed. Thank you to everyone who was involved in making this happen!

Lyceum Tavern support hospice throughout 2025

In January we visited continued supporters The Lyceum Tavern, Newport for a presentation evening of their wonderful funds raised throughout 2025, through many great fundraisers including a popular New Years Event, with live music, refreshments and more.

An outstanding £1,519 was raised for the Hospice - a total that will make a meaningful difference to us. Thank you to all involved for such brilliant support.

NatWest Newport's Fantastic Fundraising

Throughout 2024 and 2025 the team at NatWest Cymru, Newport have been raising funds for St David's Hospice Care, hosting many wonderful events in Branch from raffles, book sales and more.

A heartfelt thank you to all who supported and helped to reach an incredible fundraising total of £900! This will make such a meaningful difference to us.

Newbridge and district ladies choir host hugely successful Christmas Concert

On Monday 1st December 2025, the Newbridge and District Ladies Choir held their popular 'Christmas Celebration Concert' with special guests Yuletide Brass, and Libanus School Choir in support of St David's Hospice Care.

This month we visited the Choir's practice to share our thanks and celebrate such a fantastic total raised of £1,000 for the Hospice. We are so very grateful for such valuable support - thank you to all members and attendees!
