Why not opt for second hand?

Our Charity Shops

St David’s Hospice Care has a network of over 35 Charity Shops across South East Wales which helps support the work of our nursing and support services. Not only does this help us as a charity, but opting to buy second hand instead of new is a great climate-friendly choice. Great for planet and saving pennies.

Our shops sell a range of goods including:

Good quality clothing, furniture, shoes, handbags, accessories, books, CDs & DVDs, toys and bric-a-brac. Some of our shops also stock good quality electrical equipment which have been ‘PAT’ tested.

A 2017 study by WRAP (Waste and Resources Action Programme) found that: "An increase of 10% in second hand sales could save 3% carbon, 4% water and 1% waste per tonne of clothing."

By making the swap from fast fashion to second hand, you'll not only be making a difference to the environment, but will save pounds too! On a de-clutter mission? If you're having a wardrobe clear out, think twice before binning your items. If it's in a good saleable condition, why not donate instead?

Making Donations

De-clutter and give your items a new home

We prefer people to make large donations for our charity shops at our donations depot in Ty Coch Industrial Estate. However, we do accept small donations to our charity shops.

Please note: People fly-tipping their donations outside of charity shops is becoming increasingly problematic for charities all over the UK. Items are left outside when shops are closed and often get wet and are unsellable. Disposing of these items costs us a significant amount of money each year.  If you are going to make a donation please do so when our shops or depot are open, and make sure items are in a sellable condition. See what Items we do not accept.
