It is with great disappointment that the organisers of the Monmouth Raft Race — St David’s Hospice Care, Monmouth Rotary Club & SARA

Announce that the 2026 Monmouth Raft Race, scheduled for Sunday 6 September 2026, has been cancelled.

Following extensive discussions with event partners, safety teams, and relevant authorities, as it has been determined that the event cannot be delivered safely due to current conditions and exceptionally low water levels in the River Wye, and after careful consideration it has been concluded that cancellation is the most responsible decision in the best interests of participant and public safety and the protection of the river and its sensitive habitat and wildlife.

Whilst we recognise how much this much-loved community event means to teams, supporters, and volunteers and the important funds it raises for St David’s Hospice Care, SARA, and Monmouth Rotary Club, we are deeply grateful for the support shown, all registered participants will be contacted directly regarding entry fees and next steps, and we sincerely apologise for the disappointment caused while thanking everyone for their understanding and continued support.

Entry Fee: £50 per raft before 8th June (£75 after)

Why not ask your employer, or pub landlord, to enter a raft on your behalf? Constructing a raft and taking part is a great team building activity. Lots of fun, good publicity, and in support of a very worthwhile cause.

All sponsorship monies received by St David's Hospice Care from persons taking part in the Monmouth Raft Race will be donated to the following:

St David’s Hospice Care (80%)
SARA Rescue (10%)
Rotary Monmouth (10%)

Monmouth Raft Race Rules & Regulations

By taking part I confirm that I will not be suffering from any disability or medical condition, whether physical or mental, which could affect my ability to participate safely in this event.
By taking part I will agree to participate in this event entirely at my own risk.
By taking part I will abide by the advice of the organisers (Hospice Event Team) together with Marshals and Medical Team.
By taking part I will agree to rely on my own ability in recognising and reacting to all hazards along the route.
