About the Hospice
Nestled among greenery and its own gardens lies our purpose built, award winning in-patient unit with 15 en-suite bedrooms. This space allows us to offer support for people who have complex symptom management needs, end of life care and sometimes respite care, completely free.
St David’s Hospice Care incorporates a Consultant lead in-patient Hospice located at our site, that was previously solely a day hospice on Blackett Ave in Malpas, Newport. Opened in 2017, our 15 bedded unit can offer support for people who have complex symptom management needs, end of life care and sometimes respite care. The average length of stay at the Hospice is 2 weeks. There is open visiting in the Hospice and a coffee shop on site. All rooms have their own wet room and large bi-fold doors that open out onto individual patio's overlooking our beautiful gardens. Children and families are very welcome to the hospice.
Although the in-patient unit is located in Newport, patients are welcomed from Blaenau, Gwent, Caerphilly, Monmouthshire, Newport and Torfaen as well as Mid & South Powys.
