Volunteer help needed to serve refreshments in our café over the lunch period between 11am and 3pm (Tues/Fri/Sat/Sun)
We are a charity based within the heart of our community, providing palliative care to patients and their families in and around Newport, Caerphilly, Torfaen and Monmouthshire. We have a lovely café situated within our Inpatient Unit based in Newport and we provide refreshments to families and friends visiting their loved ones in the Hospice.
We are currently looking for some volunteers to come and provide some help within our café during the busy lunch time periods on a Tuesday, Friday, Saturday & Sunday. The hours would be between 11am and 3pm in line with your availability.
You will work alongside our Café hosts to help with the successful running of the café and assist with offering a welcome, clean and calm environment for all customers. Serving customers and cleaning tables. We work to ensure high standards of cleanliness are maintained at all times and observe the most recent Food, Health and Safety legislation and guidance.
We are looking for individuals who are friendly and like to work in a customer service environment. If you have any previous experience of working in a café or restaurant that would be beneficial but not essential as full training will be given. We ask all staff and volunteers to hold a food hygiene certificate which can be done online as part of your initial induction training.
All we ask is that staff and volunteers are well presented at all times and ensure a good rapport with customers.
