Our Hospice Facilities

Nestled among greenery and its own gardens lies our purpose built in-patient unit with 15 en-suite bedrooms, a coffee shop and day hospice unit.

A calm and serene space for our patients

Nestled among greenery and its own gardens lies our purpose built, award winning in-patient unit with 15 en-suite bedrooms. This space allows us to offer support for people who have complex symptom management needs, end of life care and sometimes respite care, completely free.

St David’s Hospice Care incorporates a Consultant lead in-patient Hospice located at our site, that was previously solely a day hospice on Blackett Ave in Malpas, Newport.  Opened in 2017, our 15 bedded unit can offer support for people who have complex symptom management needs, end of life care and sometimes respite care. The average length of stay at the Hospice is 2 weeks. There is open visiting in the Hospice and a coffee shop on site. All rooms have their own wet room and large bi-fold doors that open out onto individual patio's overlooking our beautiful gardens. Children and families are very welcome to the hospice.

Although the in-patient unit is located in Newport, patients are welcomed from Blaenau Gwent, Caerphilly, Monmouthshire, Newport and Torfaen as well as Mid & South Powys.

I cannot express how wonderful the new hospice is. My Dad is so content here, his pain is being controlled and the staff are so kind. He loves the view from his room, especially as the sun is going down, thank you so much.

Our On-Site Coffee Shop

Our coffee shop, located in our in-patient unit in Malpas serves everything from sweet treats to soups and sandwiches. With comfy seating, its own small shop selling new charity shop items and bi-fold doors that open up in the summer to overlook our beautiful gardens, it's a great place to catch up with family & friends.

For every coffee you drink or cake you eat, it's great knowing that money spent goes straight back into St David's Hospice Care.
