St David’s Hospice Care has been providing a ‘Hospice at Home service’ to patients in Newport, Torfaen, Caerphilly, Monmouthshire, and recently, Lower Powys too – since 1979.
Last year we cared for over 3,200 patients facing a life-threatening illness, and supported their their families and carers. At any one time our nurses are caring for just over 1,200 patients.
The cost of providing this service, which is free-of-charge to patients and their families, is over £5.8 million per annum. We would not be able to maintain these vital services without the help and support of local people and the business community who have supported St David’s Hospice Care so generously.
Throughout the year, we organise a range of fundraising events to compliment the fantastic fundraising done by the community, and we offer a range of tools to help our supporters.
