Are you still holding firm to that dream of a fitter, leaner, more sculptured body? To look down and see ripped abs — or at least your own feet?

How about getting on to the bike saddle in 2018, have some fun and contribute to charity whilst burning calories. SCT and Supply Chain is calling on all “MAMIL’s” (Middle age men in Lycra) and women to participate and support the event. Please put a placeholder in your diary for this year’s Tata Founders Day – Cycle ride on the 3rd March!!

The Route

We will be cycling 55 miles from Llanwern to Port Talbot.  There is no Six Nations Rugby on that weekend so there is no excuse!!

The route is on roads, is marshalled, and a support vehicle will accompany the cyclists – AND, there will be sausage and chips waiting for you at the finish in Port Talbot Sports & Social Club!

In order to help plan the event, we want to establish how many people will participate as cyclists and how many will support us on the day. Family and friends are welcome!

If you are interested in participating in this fun-filled but yet challenging event please complete the short and quick registration by following the link:

Tata Founders Day – Charity Cycle Ride

Once your registration is received, details will be forwarded in the coming weeks on the route and starting times.  All money raised from registration and donations will go toward St David’s Hospice Care.

In the meantime, get the road bike sorted, the legs pumping and spread the word about the event!!

About the Event

‘Founder’s Day’ is celebrated on the 3rd March every year, through various events, organised at all Tata businesses across Europe to celebrate the birthday of Tata group founder Jamsetji Tata.

In 2016, employees from Tata Steel’s European operations raised more than £13,000 for cancer charities in the heart of their communities. Fundraising activities included charity football matches and cycle rides. Approximately 8,000 employees in South Wales area, stretching from Llanelli to Newport will this year be involved in organised events in remembrance of Jamsetji and his dedicated work to cancer charities in the local community.

Based on the success of previous cycle rides, Tata Steel in Port Talbot and Llanwern are raising money for local charity St. David’s Hospice Care. Make a donation by clicking the button below:
