Lloyds Bank Rugby Lunch
We are delighted to announce the Annual Rugby Lunch returns on Friday, January 26th 2018 and we would like to invite you to join us at The Swalec Stadium, Cardiff from 12 Noon for an eventful afternoon whilst helping raise vital funds for St David’s Hospice Care.
This is the 15th year of the well-established Rugby Lunch which is always held just prior to the start of the Six Nations. LLoyds Bank match funds the monies raised on the day and have now exceeded £212,000 for various local charities. Always a highly entertaining afternoon, this year we have guest speakers Rod Woodward, William Derek Bevan and Compere Phil Steele.
Format of the event:
- Meeting from 12 Noon for a catch up and informal networking in readiness for lunch and ‘kick-off’ at 1.15pm
- A 3 course meal, speakers, auction and raffle with an aim to finish around 4.30pm.
- Tickets are £50.00 per person (Tables of 10, 11 or 12 are encouraged)

Rod Woodward has attracted the praise of some of the business’ most respected names and critics. Winner of the ‘Encore Comedian of The Year’, Rod completed the 110-night sell-out Dark Side Tour of the UK and Ireland with Patrick McGuinness of Phoenix Nights and appeared with Russell Brand at St. David’s Hall, Cardiff.
Back again for 2018. Broadcaster and former schoolteacher Phil Steele is one of Wales’ most popular after dinner speakers. His strong sporting background as a former top class welsh rugby player with Newport RFC in the 1980’s together with his role as a mirthful radio presenter and sports commentator for BBC Wales radio and television have enabled him to develop a wide variety of material. William Derek Bevan is a former Welsh rugby union referee. Derek refereed a total of 13 Rugby World Cup games, beginning with three games at the inaugural 1987 Rugby World Cup and three games at the 1991 Rugby World Cup, including the 1991 Rugby World Cup Final between Australia and England. Since his retirement from refereeing, Bevan has worked as a Television Match Official.
